Outlook Express New Mail Sounds

    I use outlook express and would like to set it up to notify me of new mail using a sound wav. I went into control panel and sounds and set a wav for new mail notification but still no sound when new mail arrives.

    I also set under new mail options and checked sounds. Am I missing something here? Thanks for the help......new to the board.

    Did the original sound (wav file) work ok? Is the new file small in size? (5k to 40k)

    Steve I have Windows XP and used one of the wav files that they offer. I am not sure of the size but it worked fine when tested.
