Outlook Express leaves messages stuck in Outbox

    Using Windows XP and Outlook Express I had problems which I aired on this site last year. OE would quite often, but apparently randomly, leave messages stuck in the Out box. So far as I could see they were actually sent, but never moved to the Sent box. Despite helpful advice from the great people on this site I wasn't able to crack the problem.

    I want to update you but the thread is now out of date so I have to start a new one I think.

    The solution was to scrap OE and use Mozilla Thunderbird. Easy to install, free, transferred all my old messages and has worked like a dream for six weeks.:)

    Agree with the workaround. Were these large e-mails?

    No, they varied from tiny text mails through to large attachments. It seemed to be random and unpredictable. But Thunderbird copes with them all.
