   Outlook Express 6 has recently started displaying a window with the message "Outlook Express did not shutdown correctly" every time I open the program. I have been unable to determine what causes the problem.

   I would try re-registering OE and it's associated library files as outlined in .....
   
   An Outlook Express basic repair kit
   
   Do not be concerned if this command doesn't work .....
   
   regsvr32 msjava.dll
   
   MSjava was removed from Windows some time ago following a court case with Sun.
