I recently downloaded www.zone.msn.com to play games, all of a sudden, when I go to outlook express and get an email that has a hyperlink, I get a message that reads: "Program not found, windows can not find www.zone.msn.com. The program is needed for opening files of type 'Url: http Protocol'. Location of www.zone.msn.com
    C:/
    Open Cancel Locate
I know it is supposed to be opening the internet explorer, so why would this happen?
    Thank you...

Right-click on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop... -> Properties -> Programs. Is the "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" box checked? If so, go to Start -> Run -> http://www.yahoo.com and see what happens!

Thanks for the reply. I checked out another thread on a bulletin board service and found what I needed. Yes it was checked and www.yahoo.com worked fine. I had fixed the problem earlier. I didn't look to see what had been set there when I had my problem. It was really strange.

So do you know what you did to fix it?

    Sorry

Shut down Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.
Go to Control Panel/Internet/Advanced tab, and click Restore Defaults.
And go to the Security tab, and click restore defaults there as well.

Now first try setting IE5 as your default browser. Go to IE tools/internet options/programs and turn on the check box for IE to check if it is the default browser. Shut down and restart IE. When it asks to be default browser, say yes.

This is absolutely vital if your hyperlinks are to work.

I came across this: It said DNS error, I didn't know if that was my problem, but I was searching for hyperlinks and this is what I came across. Anyway, it worked.
    Is it a DNS error?
