I recently formatted my hard disc and rebuilt my XP system from the ground up (and incidentally regained 3Gb of disc space even tho' I reinstalled all the same programs and data!!!). There is a minor quirk now in that before, when I opened OE a window popped up offering 'connect' or 'cancel'. This does not now happen and I have to select 'send/receive all'. What have I not set? Obviously I had to set up my internet connection again, but I had to do that before and this problem did not arise then.
    Any ideas anyone?

Review your settings in OE > Tools > Options > General Tab > tag Send and Receive at Start Up box > then click on > Connection Tab > Change button > Connection tab (again) > select Always dial my default connection. That assumes that you have a dial-up connection.

:) Thanks, SurferDude2. I knew it would be something glaringly obvious but I couldn't figure it. I've made the change and I don't doubt it will work. Thanks again.
