    When I try to open my Outlook Express it will disconnect my connection. Mail has been received for the moment it connects.

    Thanks,
    AGI

    Look in Tools->Options->Connection and see if "hang up after sending receiving" is checked.

    Steve,

    I followed the above path, but there was no such question. I found these listed:

    Never Dial a connection.

    Dial whenever a network connection is not present.

    Always dial my default connection.
    (Always dial my default connection) is selected.

    Roger

    I am using Win98

    AHI;

    It appears from your post that were looking in the Connection Options for Internet Explorer, the option you are looking for is in Outlook Express.

    Open Outlook Express, click on Tools, Options, and then click on the Connections Tab. You should see two options; "Ask before switching dialup connections" and "Hang up after sending and receiving ". If there is a checkmark in Hang up after sending and receiving, remove it, close Outlook Express, disconnect from the internet, start OE again and see if this solved your problem.

    Hope this helps. :)
