    Hi,

I have changed computers recently and I saved the old HD as it has some Outlook Express info on it that I would like; drafts and address book. I have hooked it up to the new computer (E drive I think) and when I go into that drive, try to open Outlook Ex. it goes to the version currently installed on the new machine and not the old version I want from the old HD. Any ideas how to get through to the old version?

    Thanks in advance.

The straightforward way is to access the old hard drive and search for *.dbx files - include hidden files & folders - which are your old Outbox.dbx, etc folders. Copy those that you wish to your new drive - the location of the message store is shown in Tools > Options > Maintenance - Store folder. Note that any .dbx file you copy to that location will overwrite the existing folder of the same name.

For your Address Book search the old drive for *.wab - probably at (I have mine on a separate drive) ...

    C:\Documents and Settings\UsernameApplication Data\Microsoft\Address Book\username.wab

Copy it to the same location on the new drive again noting that it will overwrite the existing .wab.
