outlook express continuously resends email

    outlook express 6.0. windows xp home. :mad: as of yesterday, my outgoing emails are creating an error message "some errors occurred while attempting this task" there are no details given. the email actually does send but then goes into the outbox where it remains and is resent every 15 minutes (as per my settings) or every time i hit send/receive or whenever i load o.e. it started with only emails with attachments but now doing it with all emails. also, my laptop is hooked up to same server - no problems with that. i have made no other changes that i can think of. help - people are getting angry with me for receiving 20 emails

    Close OE and search for Outbox.dbx and delete it - there is a strong possibility that it is corrupt. Outbox will be recreated the next time you open OE.

    I cant find any such file. any other thoughts?

    Look here .....
    Code:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{17F6584F-9827-408F-90B2-38A015FA81E4}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\Outbox.dbx
    The numeric string will no doubt be different and you will need to either search in Hidden Files and Folders or go to Tools > Folder Options > View and check 'Show hidden files ....' and then navigate to the location above.

    still resending outbox

    i did find this file and delete it and it initially seemed to take care of the problem as it sent the email and removed it from the outbox. However, i then sent a new email and it's doing the same thing - sending the email then reporting an error message - then putting the email in my outbox and continually resending the email. any other ideas??:(
