Following recent Windows updates, there seems to be a problem as Outlook Express will not connect to the mail server. I have seen this on a friend's computer with Windows 98 on and it now exists on this computer with Windows XP. All the server settings have been checked and rechecked, I have replicated the problem with different ISP's and have downloaded the e-mail using a non Windows e-mail cklient.

The message received was "The host 'mail.onetel.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'mail.onetel.com', Server: 'mail.onetel.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D "

Agree with Ray - see ....

    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=208814

0x800CCC0D translates as 'Cannot find server'

Your OE account may have become corrupted - create, not copy, a new account using the same input as the existing

If the problem persists another fix which has worked in the past is to create a new Dial Up Networking Connection to your ISP - again don't use 'Create copy' just fill in the appropriate detail in the New Connection Wizard.
