Long ago I sent a message In Outlook Express....It could not be sent because of some error....rejected by the server...we have all had that happen, but I cannot get rid of this message!! When I click on send/receive, outlook automatically sends first....so this message Is like stuck.....and kept coming up and I cannot get rid of It. the original e-mail was deleted long ago so I cannot get rid of It that way......please help me get rid of this "ERROR" In the window that keeps coming up when I log Into Outlook. I looked everywhere and cannot find a solution....thanks.....

I suspect your Outbox is corrupted. Search for Outbox.dbx and delete it (with OE closed) - it will be recreated the next time you open OE.

Let us know if that fixes the problem.

    Outlook Express Error Window

Peter.....thank you so much.....finally got rid of that error Message and when I would close out Outlook there would be that window....you "have unsent messages ".....finally gone!!!!!
I did what you said.....opened all files, Including hidden and typed In Outbox.dbx.....took awhile to find It. I deleted It,( holding file In recycle bin just to be safe.) closed out Outlook and re-started It and POOF!!!! GONE! It got to be quite a nuisance.......thanks again.

Any OE box that is DEFAULT (Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items and Drafts) can be deleted that way and the next time that you open OE, it/they will be recreated. If adding a folder, it is best not to make it an extension of an existing folder. Click on Local Folders when making a new folder and that way you will be safe if you ever have to pull the delete trick. Just remember that ANYTHING in the folder that you delete this way will be gone. Not saying that you can't recover it with the right software but...
I have seen a couple of times that OE could not be opened because the Inbox was so full and had to be deleted.
