I just switched from CompuServe to GTCInternet. After doing so, I stripped my hard drive and reloaded all my software, including IE / OE 6.0.

As per the instructions from GTC Internet, I entered their settings into my email server (POP3) account. However, I cannot get it to work. I keep getting the following message when I try to send or recieve email using Outlook Express.

"The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was '*****@hotmail.com'. Subject 'test ', Account: 'GTC Internet', Server: 'pop3.gtcinternet.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC79 "

What does this mean and how do I fix it?

By the way, let me make an amendment to my previous post...

It now appears that I can receive emails, just not send them. Weird, huh?

    Hey MS Turkeyhunter

So you changed your email address and sent the new one to everyone in your address book? The only one that came back was the one *****@hotmail.com? Can you send an email to anyone else? It could be that ******has hotmail configured to accept email only from people in their address book.

If the above is not on track we can try again.

As Bmoore1129 said, it may be that one invalid address is holding up the show. If there is an invalid address in a group mailing, when OE encounters it, it gives up completely, won't send that group mailing or any others in the queue, whines to you about its email being rejected and sulks.

Remove the invalid address from the group mailing and see if it'll go...which it will unless there's another invalid address in the group. Then you remove that one, too, and try again. Rinse and repeat. ;)

Well, guess I jumped the gun. I found out shortly after posting this yesterday that the new ISP requires that the "My server requires authentication" box be checked. That's all there was to it. Now it works fine.

Thank you both for your responses and for trying to help me. I appreciate it very much.
