I am sure there is an easy solution to this but I don't know how to do it.

I have DSL and 2 separate email addresses. When I added my second email address (for business purposes) the problems started. All emails go to both inboxes plus when I send an email from the business address it sends it properly but the message sent ends up also in its (business) inbox. Another situation--I added personal email contacts to my first email address book--I added busuiness email contacts to my business email address book and both the personal and business email contacts are in both address books.

Here is what I am after--one email address for purely personal--one email for purely business contacts. I hope I have explained my situation properly> I am at a loss. I'll appreciate any help!!!!!

It sounds like when you created your business account. You just added a "new account" within your main identity.
You got two ways to do what you want.
    1. Create a business inbox, then create message rules to sort the mail. The send will still happen.
    2. Delete your business account. Tools, accounts, highlight your business one, remove. Then file, identities, add new identities. Then recreate your business account under a new identity.ie, my business.

You were right on the money--I had added a "new account" within my main identity. I deleted it and created a new identity--it's working just like I want. Thanks so much--this forum is so helpful!!!!
