I have Vista on my laptop and XP on my desktop. Both have MS Outlook and both have Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. I use the same acount name on both computers and they are set to allow me to read/save/delete/etc but the mail is left on the server whenever either machine downloads the mail. The idea is to allow me to download at either machine, but maintain my files at the desktop and use that machine to delete from the server.

Lately, when email downloads from the server to the laptop, it comes in and just as quickly it all automatically disappears. It does not delete from the server, but it won't stay on the laptop. The mail does stay on the desktop when I download it.

Any suggestions for why the laptop will not keep the mail in Outlook to allow me to read and dispose of it on my own?

    Wmergen,

You may have a filter set in the Outlook on the laptop.
Read this URL from Microsoft and follow the steps in Cause 1 to see if it fixes the problem.
