Outlook blocks access to a file I need

    A software provider has sent me a file which will cure a problem I have in running that software ; it is sent as an attachment to an e-mail.
    I use Outlook ( Microsoft Office Outlook 2007) which is giving me the message <Outlook blocked access to the folowing potentially unsafe attachments;Licence.exe>
    How can I get at this attachment to download it ?
    ( and should I ? )

    Contact the provider and have them rename the file to DOT TXT and resend.
