outlook archiving

    I have my gmail set up as IMAP in my 2007 Outlook program. I am curious to find out what happens if I use the Archiving feature...What happens to the messages on the server? :confused:

    Archiving creates a new .pst file and moves the mail there. Sholdn't have any effect with the web mail.

    I tried it but none of the archived messages appear in the archived folders...:confused:

    Double check the archive settings in Tools->Options->Other
    Double check example: Inbox Properties->Archive tab

    I did those things but when I did a manual archive I got empty folders...
