    Hello,

Yesterday I set up new email accounts in our office, as we've recently changed our host & domain. During this process, I dragged all the old emails from the old accounts into the new ones, which have been set as default.

I had some problems deleting the old accounts, and got a message from Outlook about moving the file location (or something similar), and I said Yes, I wanted to do that. I got a message saying that I'd have to close Outlook so the files could be moved. I did.

When I rebooted, I was now able to delete the old accounts with no problem.

But this morning I find that my address book is GONE, as are my calendar dates and scheduled tasks! Everything is gone, except the new accounts themselves, and the emails I dragged into them yesterday. I haven't check other users' accounts, but would expect they will find the same thing when they look.

I have retrieved the ORIGINAL pst files (that is, the ones with the old account info) from our most recent backup. It would be awesome to restore the missing data before users know it's gone!

What I need to know is:
    1) how can I restore just the missing info from the old accounts into the new accounts, and not all the messages, and whatever else is in the pst files?
    2) once I've got the info restored, how can I keep the address books, and calendar & tasks info and still safely delete the old accounts?

Guessing you're not talking about individual per user pst files here...But, You should try the import function....

I would have simply edited the account info from the old to the new and left everything else alone.

I couldn't just edit the info because we didn't have email forward set up when we started our move. But yes, the pst files are per user. If I use >Import, won't that import everything? How do I keep from having the same thing happen all over again?

Yes it will... Deleting some extra mail might be quicker then re-typing the contact info.

Your other option is to zap the new pst file and replace it with the old one;)
