I have a computer that underwent a Win 10 update yesterday to Ver 1909 Build 18353.535 and when I opened Outlook all of the contacts were missing.

I have read a number of solutions found by searching but nothing has helped.
    • There is a windows.old folder but there is nothing in there showing anything Outlook as 2010 stores the pst file in Documents/Outlook Files and not the App data file.
    • Check Outlook Address Book Service is present
    • Contact Folder is Marked as Outlook Address Book
    • Recreated the Mail Profile
    • Ran ScanPST
Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

As you've probably seen there are a ton of articles on the subject...

If you do a NEW email and click the TO..... the list is empty??

Do you have a backup copy of the PST that you could use to import from?

    no, nothing comes up.

I looked at the contacts yesterday and took a backup of the PST file to restore on a new computer but when I restored it there is nothing in the contacts. At the time I also did a .csv backup of the contacts and again, it is empty. The email is there so I am totally confused.

So... You have two computers... the contacts work on one but not the newer one?

    Start a new email....
    Click the TO button
On the right under Address Book is a drop down - have you tried all of the options?

Sorry for the late reply. Tis the season...
I tried looking at a new email and there is nothing in the various contact list options. It's a mystery

After searching through the hard drive I have found another backup of the contacts and restored it so, all is good but still a mystery.
    Thanks for the input Steve
