I have one user who is clicking once on an email in his Inbox, and it opens the email instead of just highlighting it. He also will close an open email and it closes the entire Outlook program instead of just the email. I have repaired his installation of office, given him a new outlook profile, slowed down his mouse speed, and given him a new mouse. Has anyone had this problem, and know how to fix it? He's running Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.

Does this also happen with Outlook running Safe Mode?

Run outlook.exe /safe from the Run menu (or by typing it in the Start menu Search box).

I found the fix! Right click sort bar (or whatever it's called), choose View Settings, click on the Group By button, on the bottom right where it says Expand/collapse defaults, pull the menu down and choose As last viewed. I found a post on another forum, and it worked. Thanks for the help anyway everybody!

Hi Guys, this turned out to be a mouse issue. Replaced the mouse, and all is well.
