I'm running Windows 7 and Outlook 2007. I can move mail to each of my folders. However, when I try to access the mail in various folders nothing is shown, the folder is empty. When I look at the Junk mail it tells me there are nine pieces of mail, but no mail appears in the folder. This happens with some of my personnel folders, not all. When I do a search via specific argument, the mail will be shown and tells me it is a certain folder. When I look at that folder the folder is empty. I have tried numerous things with no luck. Does anybody out there have any ideas that I could try?
    Thank you

    possibly

To save my time - What have you tried?

Additional info: what type email accounts do you have? POP or IMAP?

Check under View > Current View that 'Messages' is checked and not 'Unread messages in this folder'.

You will need to do this for each folder.

Ephemarial, what I tried was completly illogical and anything you suggest would be new to my efforts. To answer your question I am running IPOP.

PeteC, I looked at what you suggested,
, and everything is as it should be.

I am open to ANY suggestions.

Thanks for your time and brain power.

Microsoft 2007 Folder stored E-mails Lost.

Hello, I am still trying to resolve my folder issue. But, I'm having my usual success. NO PROGRESS. Any new suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The problem again is when I place mail into some folders I can not recover the mail when I go to that folder, the folder shows up empty. However, when I do a word search I find the mail and it shows it being in the correct folder.

I do not understand the bit about "I can move mail to each of my folders ". Do you have multiple folders - e.g. more than one Inbox folders? If so, you could be having more than one data file (Outlook.pst where Outlook 2007 personal folders, contact info, etc).
    Select Tools > Account Settings.
    Select the Data Files tab.
How many .pst files are listed?

Fredrick, when I receive mail I can file it into one of my personal folders (i.e. Junk mail). When I look at the list of folders Junk Mail shows that I have three items. However, when I open the Junk mail folder I am told that "there are no items to show in this view." If I remember a key word and search on the key word the mail item will appear and show it as being in the Junk mail folder. This happens in the Junk mail folder and about 2/3 of my other folders. My Contact and Calender information has not been affected.

I hope this explains my problem better than I have in my previous messages.

Thanks for looking at my problem.

    Kevin
