:confused:Hello, I recently had to re-install my OS, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I then re-installed Outlook 2007. After the installation a new set of Personal Folders was created. It took me quite a while to find the Personal Folders that I established when I had previously installed Outlook 2007. They were located in an Archive folder. I now need help to make MY Personal Folders the ones you see when Outlook is first started.

I also can not find my Contact list. I know it still exists some where. When I enter a person's name the e-mail address appears. Again, I need help finding the Contact .pst file so I can make changes.

Can someone out there please point me in a direction that will let me fix this week's set of problems?

    Kevin

Hi, I think I might be able to help a little with the first part. When you reinstall Outlook, I believe it creates a new PST file and makes it the default PST. If you have your old PST file, you should be able to go into Outlook and then Tools, Account Setting. And then if you click to go the Data Files tab. You should see the new PST marked as Default. You can Add your old PST, and then set it as default and remove the old one.

The contacts in Outlook (in the Contacts folder) are actually in the same PST. Hopefully when you add back the old PST those Contacts should be there. There's also a separate "nickname" file which helps you give nicknames for email addresses if you're composing an email for example. That's in a different file, but it's probably not urgent to copy that one over. I think it would be an NK2 file. Good luck!
