I'm using Outlook 2007, and I "m getting this message
the data file 'personal folders' iwas not closed properly. this file is being checked for problems. OUtlook takes a long time to open and close now.

    What i've tried:
i've ran the 'scanpst' pgm and it found errors and said it correted them but still having issues.
i've renamed the ".srs" file and that hasn't helped.
I've deleted tons of emails and that hasn't helped.
I've googled and gone to microsoft's support and tried several suggestions, still hasn't helped.
I've created a new '.pst.' file and the program opens just fine. I've proceeded to import my email folders/calander/contacts and then i've received a message that i've have reached its maximun limit. I'm only a 1/2 way with importing my folders.
My orginal .pst file that has the problem shows size close to 4gb.
My new .pst file that is now says its maxed out is 2gb.
any idea of how i can get rid of this problem.
    thanks.

I'd suggest to start archiving some mail. 4GB is pretty large for a PST. 2GB might also be... My PST file has been between 1 and 1.5GB in the past, but these days it is around 600-700MB. I've set it to Auto Archive most of my mail after 6 months.
