    Solving this issue cost me a few hours of hacking around today and I'm no beginner.

    Outlook 2007 refused to let me open any hyperlinks. A few days ago I had installed Google Chrome for some testing and then uninstalled it and that appears to be the issue/guilty party.

    The fix is automatic at:

    You receive an error message when you click a hyperlink in Outlook

    Click the fixit button. My box is the one in my profile.
