Outlook 2003 stops when using the tool bar

My outlook 2003 just started displaying the error indicating -- Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The error message is as follows

Searching this said something about a solution, but it was not clear what needed to be done.
