Is there any way to reduce the amount of resources that Outlook uses when it is receiving mail. Outlook 2003 on Win XP and cable internet, pulling mail off POP3 servers. Whenever Outlook is receiving mail, especially first thing on boot up as there is often a lot, I cannot get any other program to perform. Ideally I would like to limit the amount of resources allocated to Outlook at any time.

    Thanks,

    RobF

Outlook 2003 is a PIG on system resources. Nothing you can go except consider using Outlook Express.
