    Hi Everyone,

    I use outlook 2003 on a windows 7 machine.

I want to copy the important files that hold info so that i can safely back up all messages, contacts, calendar events & acount settings to enable me to transpose everything to a new machine.

I am aware of the microsoft backup program PFbackup, but find this is not very good and not easy to use and doesn't carry over the account settings.

I have figured out that by copying the outlook office data file located in Appdata/local/microsoft/outlook that this stores everything except the email account settings. So by pasting this back into a new install of outlook 2003 i get everything back except the account settings.

Does anyone know where the email account info is stored so that i can easily copy and paste this to bring everything over to a new machine?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

The account info is stored somewhere in the registry...A piece of paper and a pen will do the job;) It barely takes 60 seconds to add an account.

program files > microsoft office > office tools should have a "save my settings" wizard.

Outlook 2000 had the ability to export account settings as an iaf file. That feature is not in any later versions of Outlook.
