The folder tree shows a folder with no name. I can't expand it or do anything with it. I can right click to get some options. The folder name is garbage. It shows as <0w#25>

There is no actual PST with that name.

How do I remove this?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

When you right click on it, is there a Delete Option?
If not, which options do you see?

Wish we could post pics here. Right click gets me:
    Open
Send link to this folder (greyed out)
    Open in New Windows
    Advanced Find
    Rename "<0w#25>" (greyed out)
    New Folder
    Open Other Folder
    Close "<0w#25> "
    Properties for "<0w#25>" (greyed out)

If I try Open I get a message box saying "The set of folders could not be opened. The requested information could not be found in the active profile "

If I try the Close option I get a box saying "You cannot close the mailbox that contains your Calendar, contacts, and inbox" The problem is all those are in the Mailbox folder that works fine.

I am sure this folder 'name' is in the registry somewhere.

Do you recall when it showed up and anything unusual that might have happened?

Hightlight the folder and click FILE->FOLDER->and see if the Delete "<0w#25>" is available.

It showed up today but I am not sure how. I cannot highlight the folder. A single left click on it results in a message box saying "The set of folders could not be opened ".
    I know. They don't exist!

I think something in the registry is telling Outlook I have this folder/pst.

There is no PST to scan/fix. There is just some entry somewhere saying I have a pst called <0w#25>

This is Outlook 2003 running on an office PC connected to Exchange 2003.

Getting rid of the profile did it!. But why, oh, why did MS have to move things around in Vista 64 Control Panel? Mail is now under another option called View 32-bit Control Panel Items.

    Thanks!
