Hello, I know I'm opening a BIG can of worms but I just started to use Outlook 2000 for my e-mail program. My question is this, if I use Outlook Express 6.01 instead is their away I can use Microsoft word for my e-mail editor? sowhen I would click on New for a new e-mail, will Word come up for my message to write on. I want to be able to use Word for correct Grammar and Spelling instead of OE for just spelling corrections. I know I asked something like this awhile back, just looking for clarity...
    Many, Many thanks,,

To the best of my knowledge, Word is available only for Outlook and that is why it was packaged with '
the "office" group. If you like to use word, I think you have to use Outlook.

    OK WIRY

Thank you WIRY for getting back to me, I thought I was invisible for awhile ;)
I follow you, i'm reading more and more about the program. I like Outlook, just was afraid that I didn't have the correct security installed for the e-mail.
    Thanks again,,,

I use outlook because it handles everything in one place and it hotsyncs with my Palm. But I set it so that it doesn't automatically open email in the browser at the bottom. To do that
to to inbox, view and click on preview pane until it disappears.
That way you won't automatically open email. I delete everything unless I recognize the address. Also, I use a firewall. One that was requested on this board is Kerio Personal Firewall which I use and I like it a lotl. Use any of this that you like.

Great info Wiry. I always have used a Firewall since it was first recomended for Cable Internet. I know that its important to use it on Dial-ups also. I did follow your advice and get rid of the Preview Pane under "View ".
Thank you very much for all the help Wiry. The only thing I can't seem to figure out is how to get my Outlook to have 128 Cipher Strength, I think its called that. I believe mine says 40 Bits. It shows under Help then "about Microsoft Help ". I think it makes for a more secure E-mail. It says that my IE has 128 Cipher Strength.
    Thanks again Wiry,

My outlook has 128 and I use Office 2000, just like you. I just did the windows update as well as the ie and oe update. Maybe that fixed that. You might look at updates for outlook and see if there's a security fix. Or maybe the windows fix also fixes that.

    With Microsoft, who knows.

    Good luck
