I really need some help with this one! when I send an outgoing email with an attachment using Outlook express, it sends itself 28 times or more, and is not received correctly. I think I have a virus, but have run AVG in safe mode and no virus is found. Has anybody experienced this?
I have run up against the wall!

There can be several causes, I would like you to implement them all.

First, change two settings in Outlook Express:

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced. Uncheck: "Break apart
    messages........ ".

Then set to disabled "Move Sent Items to Sent
    Folder"

Finally, move sent e-mails to a newly created folder and the Sent folder will be empty. Do the same for Delete items, or just remove them all so that the Deleted items folder is also empty.

    AVG Issues:

For AVG you can only persistently set email scanning during installation. So, uninstall AVG in Add/Remove Programs. Then do a 'Custom' installation, but do not enable email scanning. It is not only unecessary, it is a huge drain on system resources. It also is responsible in part for your multiple email problem.
