    Hi all,

My AMD 64 bit, XP Pro, SP1, 1 GB RAM, 200+ GB hard disk PC is taking way too long to load programs.

In Photoshop, I normally can open many photos at once (60+). Now if I open 30 or so and then try to open more I get an error message from Adobe Photoshop that say "can't load, not enough RAM. "

Changing directories is taking minutes versus seconds.

System Info says my memory usage is at 93% - I'm not running anything but Photoshop.

    hmmmm.... any ideas?
    Glen

Take a look in Task Manager and see what is using up all that RAM and post back.

If the problem is confined to Photoshop deleting the Preferences file solves a multitude of problems.

Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift as soon as PS starts to load and before the splash screen appears - a dialogue box appears - Delete Adobe Photoshop Settings File - Yes/No. You have to be quick!

Obviously you have to set up your Preferences again. Why this solves problems apparently unassociated with Preferences I don't know, but sometimes it works :)
