Organizing Mail - Thunderbird

    captjlddavis post has you on the right track.
    If you would like a view which is sorted like the Outlook pic you have provided, do the following in Thunderbird ...

    Click, highlight any folder.
    Click on the column header for DATE. The "Arrow" should be pointing "up" for decending.
    Now travel up to the menu bar and click on View.
    Move down the list and click on Sort by
    This opens another view, travel to the very bottom and enable "Group by Sort G ". Your Thunderbird folder will now have the same view as Outlook. This display option is unique to each folder, set as you prefer. As captjlddavis suggested, play with these settings within Thunderbird. Example "Threaded" by group can be useful for Newsgroup sorts/views

    Thank you this works. One thing that I notice is very strange is that mail from 2 days ago ALWAYS counts as last week.

    This is not my normal sort/view, so I set it up ... it sorts the same as yours, moves two days ago into "Last Week" break. Possible this sort issue will be address in Thunderbird 3.x development.
