Organizing Mail - Thunderbird

I like the way Outlook organized your messages by Today, Yesterday, and 2 Weeks Ago, and Older.

Is there anyway to have Thunderbird do this with an addon maybe?

Try playing with:
View->Sort by
Grouped By sort (at the bottom )

Columns can be moved left/right by Left click/hold and drag.

Date format can be changed with: Configdate

captjlddavis post has you on the right track.
If you would like a view which is sorted like the Outlook pic you have provided, do the following in Thunderbird ...

Click, highlight any folder.
Click on the column header for DATE. The "Arrow" should be pointing "up" for decending.
Now travel up to the menu bar and click on View.
Move down the list and click on Sort by
This opens another view, travel to the very bottom and enable "Group by Sort G ". Your Thunderbird folder will now have the same view as Outlook. This display option is unique to each folder, set as you prefer. As captjlddavis suggested, play with these settings within Thunderbird. Example "Threaded" by group can be useful for Newsgroup sorts/views

 

Strange

Thank you this works. One thing that I notice is very strange is that mail from 2 days ago ALWAYS counts as last week.

 

This is not my normal sort/view, so I set it up ... it sorts the same as yours, moves two days ago into "Last Week" break. Possible this sort issue will be address in Thunderbird 3.x development.
