I connected an Optical mouse om USB port, sometimes the curser is jumping to another location on the screen without me directing it there, is it a spftware problem or maybe something else.

    Thanks

Since I'm a believer in checking the easiest things first, what kind of surface is the mouse on? Reflective surfaces...like glass and even a mouse pad worn shiny...as well as mouse pads with high contrast....white areas on black, maroon or other dark color...can cause erratic cursors.

When i hooked up the Ms optical mouse, the menu under pointer options had the "snap to" box checked. I unchecked it and all was well. may or may not help. good luck

I would be a mess w/o my "snap to" turned on. I can't understand why the world uses mouses over trackballs, either. Try buying an adapter to make the USB mouse a PS2. If it doesn't fix it, you're not out much.
