ok, so, this might be a dumb question...however, I can't figure out what to do, lol. When I open a new browser from my desktop, it opens full size. When I open a browser from an existing browser, (right click, open in new window) it comes up in a small box. I've resized it, closed it out, hoping that would reset it, but it doesn't...I've resized it, closed it and then restarted my computer and that doesn't help, either. Any ideas on how to get it to change the size--and stay that size? I can resize it, but I can't get it to stay that size--after I close the window and re-open a new one. Help, please :)

Here's what I did and possibly it will help you. Open your browser to some site that contains an imbedded link. Right-click that link and select "Open in New Window." Then close the first browser window. Then resize the remaining window MANUALLY. Do not click the Maximize button. Pull the window to full size manually.

Then hold down the ctrl key and close the window. All newly opened secondary windows will open to your new setting.

Not perfect but probably as good as you'll get.

thanks! I had it set up once, but I resized a new window to do some comparing. Every one I opened after that was the smaller size and I couldn't get it to be normal size...manually resizing, maximizing, nothing worked. All is better now, thank you so much!!!

Another solution which I have used for years is IE New Window Maximiser on all IE versions up to and including IE 8.

    Hi surferdude2,

Wow! I've had the same problem with IE forever. The second window always required resizing — until, that is, your excellent fix: works like a charm. I only use IE when absolutely necessary, though.

I've never had the problem with Netscape, SeaMonkey or FireFox.

    I'll give peteC's link a shot too.
