I installed OpenOffice. It put an icon on the desktop, but also left "installation files" Folder also. I did not downloaded it to the desktop, it put it there as it installed.

If I remember right, this happened to a friends computer a couple years a go. He deleted it and his Oo didn't work. Why did it leave this folder on the desktop?
What can I do to get rid of it?

    Thank you,
    Chris.

I'm not sure exactly what your friend did, but I always see this installation file also, whenever I install OpenOffice.

I've never had a problem after deleting them. You can simply move the file to your Recycle bin, or right-click and select Delete.
