I am using my friends computer, which is running Win XP Pro.

Whenever he receives an e-mail or a post from a site like this one with a "Color Highlited Url" and I click on the URL it will not open--all I get is a BEEP and the site will not open.

Anyone know what the problem is and how to cure it?

    Thank you,
    Paul

See if the information in the MS KB article, Internet Shortcuts in Outlook Express Do Not Start Web Browser provide the fix you need.

I've fixed that problem several times just by changing the path in Folder Options>Files Types>URL:File Transfer Protocol as described on that page under "Resolving the Second Cause. "

Thanks Miz, but I found out what was causing it.

He had a Pop-up Stopper installed and you had to disable it to bring the URL's up.

I got rid of that Pop-up and installed another one.

    Thanks again,
    Paul
