I have DSL and an Earthlink dial up connection on my computer (Windows ME). When opening attachments in OE it wants to dial up to Earthlink instead of using my default dsl connection.
I have unchecked the option "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened......"
My dsl is set as the default connection. Why does it want to dial up to Earthlink to open an attachment and how do I correct it? The attachment in question so far is .eml which is a forwarded email but it will not let me open it.

whompuscat--Who is your email service provider? If it is Earthlink or you must go through Earthlink to access it, then it is logical it is an Earthlink number your DUN is dialing.
On OE Tools|Options|General tab does it indicate whether OE is your Default email program?
Are you having any problems getting the email?

Earthlink is not the account set up in OE for email. Bellsouth is the account I have set up and Earthlink is not set up in OE at all. I do have an Earthlink email account but the account set up in OE is not even mine however, it did download some of my email from Earthlink even tho I did not set up that email account in OE. I tried saving the download and then clicked "open with" and selected OE to open .eml attachments. This did not work either, however it does not try and connect to Earthlink anymore it just won't open the attachment.
