    Hi all,

A friend sent me a .pps file and there's a couple of them I'd like to keep for my Desktop\Wallpaper.

How do I open the .pps file and save the pics as a .jpg?

One Way- When the picture that you want is on screen, press the prt scr (print screen) button on your keyboard. Then close the .pps file and open any graphics editing program that you have and select File > Paste. The picture should appear on screen. You can then choose File > Save As > and name the file to your choosing. Store it in whatever Directory you prefer. Then you can open it, tight-click on the image and choose Set As Background and it will become your Desktop Wallpaper.

There are other way but they require a 3rd party screen capture program. There are several of those available for free. I use PrintKey 2000.

    You need Powerpoint ....

Open the .pps file in Powerpoint - click on the thumbnail of the image you want to save - right click on the full size picture > Save as Picture and select the file type to save as - .bmp for wallpaper.

Alternatively Open Office (freeware) - Impress - same procedure.

    Hi surferdude2,

Thanks! I was missing the step to open Paint and click Paste! Works perfect (like I don't).

    Hi Pete,

When I open PowerPoint, and click on where I saved the .pps file, it doesn't show up in the "Preview" window; instead the PPS show begins.

p.s. Thanks, guys, for answering so quickly. I knew there was a reason I come here so often. :)
