I have office 2003 Pro and when I open Excel I get a blank spreadsheet. When I open a previous spreadsheet, a second saved spreadsheet of mine opens up automatically along with the one I'm trying to open. I get 2 spreadsheets with information, when I only want to view the one I call up.

How can I get only 1 spreadsheet that I call up open only.
    Advise...

Sorry, have to ask this one, these are two seperate files verses one file with two workbooks correct?

Sounds like they got linked somehow. What happens if you open the other one first?

yes they are two seperate files. Problem is the linking idea, these files are not dependant to each other.

    Interesting behavior. Annoying but interesting.

I don't have THE answer at this point but do have a suggestion. Copy each page of one of the spreadsheets to a new sheet. Save it with a different name. Then rename the original and move it to a different location. See if that solves the problem. If so, rename the new sheet to the same as the old one was if you are fond of that filename and try again.

You may need to do this with both the problem items at the same time to undo whatever is hooking them together.

Are you opening them by going to the actual saved file and double clicking or by going file / open or by going file and selecting one from the most recent used files list at bottom ?
It almost sounds like you are doing the last and the mru list is corrupt.
