Open Source CAD Package

    I'm looking for alternatives to AutoCAD. Is anyone using a OpenSource package? It is just 2D schematics we would be drawing.

    Yes, I counted over 30 possiblities before I stopped. I was hoping to narrow it down some what.

    I cannot reccomend against this strongly enough!!!
    ESPECIALLY IF THIS IS YOUR BUSINESS!!!
    Do you want to get close to a deadline and then find the issue(s)?

    There are bazillions of issues encountered with many of these open source CAD graphics programs.

    If the cost of AutoCAD is the issue, there are Lite versions and also some "knock offs" that are substantially less money, but do not carry all the issues as the open source programs.

    I afriad I have to agree with you. Over the last week we looked ata number but where having a lot of difficulties.

    We are using a number of open source programs for other things but this one, I think will stay with AutoCAD.
