Port 80 is usually open for web browsing. You are running a firewall? Right?;)

    Port 80

    Purpose: World Wide Web HTTP

Description: This is the primary port used by the world wide web (www) system. Web servers open this port then listen for incoming connections from web browsers. Similarly, when a web browser is given a remote address (like grc.com or amazon.com), it assumes that a remote web server will be listening for connections on port 80 at that location.

For more info on this port: https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 and scroll down near bottom and enter 80 into "specific port information "

    Are you running a firewall?

Link to Mizo Netstats program: shows among things, what port a process is using http://mizotec.netfirms.com/products/mizoxpnetstatsbar/index.htm

    Regards - Charles

    Hello Snooker,

Asked about a firewall, not because we thought it was causing a problem, but because a competent firewall would close the port.

    Hi Snooker,

"I just disable mine though i figure why do i need it when i am using a router right ??? "

Not a good idea. Can't deny any outbound connection. Be it an app that wants to call home or a trojan/worm that gets on your system via e-mail or downloads thru the Browser.

Yes, just the Net Stats program. The site seems a lot lik the one you referenced.

    Regards - Charles
