    I checked a few data bases for a solution to this question and now I have some MORE questions on the subject.

    The answer said to RIGHT CLICK a link and chose OPEN WITH NEW WINDOW. Or, you can hold the SHIFT key and click your link and it'll open in a new window. I just ran a test on this. It only works if you are surfing and want to click a link on that page and have it open in a new window. What I want to do is, when I am checking my mail after, lets say, I already have an IE window open because I was checking something out and my OE just 'ding donged' at me that new mail was in, and I open the mail and see a link to something neat. Now I want to check out the link, BUT I don't want it to open in the IE window that I already have open. Is there a way to open that OE link in a new window? I know that when a URL comes in on my icq and I also have a page open in IE, it will ask me if I want to open in a new window or use the current one. I could have sworn that at one time I could open links from my OE and it would ask if I wanted to open it in a new window. I'm wondering now if that used to be in version 4. I have version 5.5 now.

    Any clues or help out there? Would be appreciated if there was a remedy for this one.

    Thanks!

    :)

    I run OE6 wirh IE6 and if I hold the shift key down while clicking a mail message link, it opens it in another windows if I happen to have a browser window open. I can't imagine why it doesn't for you unless it's version related and 5.5 won't cut it.

    Also look here although it may cover ground you have already plowed.

    Good luck

    Thanks for the link, but it didn't answer my question. And, you were right. Some of it was ground I had already covered. I don't have a problem opening links in OE. Just want to be able to open them in a new window. I'll keep watching and see if anyone found something different.

    Oh! I DID learn a new trick in there, though.

    If a page loads with no graphics, click the red X and right click. Then click "choose picture." It'll pop that graphic right out of the box and show itself! :eek: Thought that was a neat trick.

    How bout this Archived Post:
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1759&highlight=outlook+open+in+new+window

    ====work around=======
    While ie has focus hit cntrl+N [control key plus N] to open new window and drag and drop that url onto the new window.

    =================
    Must add that clicking links in emails can be a risky busy now a days. The name or url seen may be wolf in sheeps clothing. May be better off right clicking and "copying shortcut" and pasting into a new window's address bar.
