Ooutlook Express will not send mail

I'm running wWindows ME with Norton's Antivirus and Zone Alarm Std. When I send something to my outbox, in Outlook Express, it just sits there. If I click on 'Send/Receive' mail I get an error message on the outboud mail, but it will receive mail OK. If I exit OE it will prompt me I have outgoing mail and when I click yes it will send it OK. Any ideas?

 

Bob259-- When you click Send on a New Message in OE, it actually sends the email first to Outbox and then--usually so quickly that you are unaware-- to your email service and the result shows up in Sent Mail. Sometimes the mail gets stuck in Outbox. I think that is what is happening here. I assume you are not intentionally sending the email to Outbox, but that is getting stuck there on its own.
Some ideas to fix the problem here.
