    Jan,
I am having some problems understanding what you did, but, if you did not uninstall firefox before installing Deer Park, you may have some problems.
I would never install a program in its early stages, but I would try to download one of the nightlies in the zip format, and then work from the unzipped folder. The unzipped program can be deleted anytime, and you should not have any problem if you use a separate profile. I would not try to have firefox and deer park installed, but there may be some reports at the Mozillazine site. This is the part I don't get: "ooh i did the uninstall from programs and firefox didnt in add/remove programs or on belarc "
As for the Launch problem, did it work before in Firefox? It seems that a number of Yahoo site has recently discovered NS7.1, and blocked anything else.
I have been able to get around the problem by using the UserAgentSwitcher extention. I am not going any further because I have to prove that it will work for me.
I tried, and it does not work. I have been doing ok without Yahoo stuff, and, I will keep up that way.

    Jan,

If you uninstalled Deer Park using Add/Remove programs, are you saying that now Firefox is not listed in Add/Remove? If this is the case, have you tried reinstalling Firefox over the existing version? That sometimes works, as it replaces the uninstall log. And one more question, were you sharing a Profile with Firefox?

As Westside suggests, it was made very clear that Deer Park is for Developers, and not end users, unless of course you just want to play around with the browser. Are you reporting any problems that you encounter, and if not you really should, as the developers are begging for help in reporting web sites which don't work with Deer Park, and any other problems you may encounter. That is the purpose for the Alpha releases. What you have just experienced should also be reported...

sorry about the confusion what i meant to say was that i went to programs found the uninstaller (firefox) and used it. firefox no longer showed up in either add/remove programs nor on my belarc, i guess it is uninstalled. i reinstalled it and ran into the launch problem. i had it with other computer(o/s 2k)with deer park( and no firefox) basically same thing "do not support netscape on the windows platform" and i was curious to see if firefox would get same error.

havent had launch before on anything except the explorer just thought since yahoo was home page, well you know.sort of like getting my yahoo but not mail, just weird, before i confuse you again everything seems to work ok with that exception(launch)

browsers seem like children they dont share well do they or this is another post? thanks y'll  and confusing
