    Hi Charles

Well... you've managed to pique my interest (*sigh). What exactly is MS One Care? I take it that it's the old Giant Anti-Spyware (MS Anti-Spyware) which they've managed to incorporate with an Anti-virus program (which one?) and a firewall (which one?). So... it's all in beta and therefore for the time being it's still free to try out. Correct?

Have you or anyone you know given it a try?

I'm curious since ... well... I'm just a curious kinda guy. The Sunbelt CounterSpy I'm paying for seems to work great (albeit it's hard on resources). And the AVG and ZA free are also doing well. But... my curiosity is getting the better of me. ;) ;)

James--To bring my reaction to OneCare up to date, I uninstalled it. I think I may have said in the earlier thread that is basically is an Antivirus and Firewall program. But there are a few added wrinkles. More details here
    http://beta.windowsonecare.com/prodinfo/default.aspx
However, I already have AV and firewall programs that seem to function well, and soon decided I was really not that keen to try a beta of something similar to what I had and liked. Since there is the possibility of conflicts when running two AV and firewalls, I would have to disable the other AV and Firewall. Also, I did not like having having OneCare perform so many automatic functions.
But my comments are based on individual biases, so if you are curious, I see no reason not to try OneCare. Just do not also running conflicting programs.
OneCare is not the same as MSAntiSpyware. I have run that for over a year now and am very pleased with it. It also does not conflict with the other antispyware programs I run.
MS has come out with a slew of beta security programs using the Live label.

The link above takes you to the OneCare Live page where you can download it for free for a limited time. The question is: whose anti-virus and whose firewall is this? We know the anti-spyware is from the former Giant (a good one). I've a feeling the anti-virus is EZ-trust. Is this right? What about the firewall?

btw: the MS Anti-spyware will soon no longer be free. I understand that this will be bundled with the OneCare Live package to be sold this June for $49.95 and only $19.95 to those who already have it installed.
