I have 128 MB ram, gold contacts, all in one slot.

Would like to go to 256 or 512 with gold colored contacts.

Where can I get reliable chips? Just go on the WWW and search?

Thought some of you may have a good source.

Gold Contacts are only one part of it, you need to know what type of chip (DDR, SDram), Speed (PC 133, PC 100). I use Crucial for memory upgrades and they have a lot of info on their site.

    Good luck

Thanks Bubba. This NT computer was

custom assembled and I have no mother board info, etc.

I checked system administrator diagnostics, etc to no avail.

The chips are long, with what appears to be three gold colored segments that snap into board. There are "ears" on both ends. Looks like chips I have seen in HP CPUs and others systems. Guessing these or a popular type of chip, but SIMM, DRAM etc, I have no clue.

I have 128 memory all in one slot, with three slots still open.

Where would I check elsewhere in system? Some data shows when it boots, but goes by so fast I cannot get it.

Must be a way to phish it up...

    Suggest Everest; download and run.

Download and run Everest Home Edition - this will give you details of your mobo, memory and a lot more :)

Another option is to pull the memory and enter the line of numbers (and maybe some letters) written on the stick into Google for a search. You'll get your info that way. This will help with Cas Latency rating info.

Thanks. Will climb Everest next week and peek at the

chip if that does not work.

Personally, I do not plan on using a computer once for next week, which means I will have a jillion spams emails to deal with, when I return from fishing waters and turkey table.

Thanks, and have fun holiday season. Will let you know how upgrading goes.
