    Pete,
    On 29/10/07 I complained that my OE6 was very slow in opening (up to 3 minutes to open). Since then I have tried several remedies including re-installing OE but all without success. Last week I accidentally selected OE before logging on to Internet and OE came up immediately. Since then I have definitely established OE comes up immediately, so long as I log on to Internet after and not before selecting OE6. I would love to give an intellectually profound reason for this but alas I can't.

    Thanks for the update - I am equally surprised that your 'accidental' solution worked and can offer no explanation. The following solution from MS may work, indeed you may have already tried it ....

    OLEXP: Outlook Express 5 Starts Very Slowly

    Also applies to OE 6
