Is there a command I can put in a bat file that will set my screen resolution? I have a game that will only run with a certain resolutin but it is different then the one I prefer normally. I know some games change the resolution on the fly but is there a way I can do that in a bat file to switch the resolution before the game is started and back when it ends? TIA.

There is a small app. you can install and sits down next to the clock, works really good. Just point to the screen res. you want, click it, there it is. I had it on my Windows ME. That's the good news, the bad news is I forget where I got it. I think the name was something like Quickres, I also think it was part of Microsoft Powertoys.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using something similar already. It is part of ME where you can put the settings icon on the task bar. A right click lets you select the resolution you want. However, my question was posed to see if there is a command line way to do it so I didn't have to bother manually switching back and forth.

It would not really be feasible to use a bat file in this case. To go into specifics is beyond the scope of this thread.
