On-screen MUTE display won't go away

    A green MUTE display appeared on the top right corner of my screen and I've tried everything I know to make it go away, but to no avail. Any ideas?

    Does your sound work ok or is it mutted?

    Sound works fine. MUTE display is on whether muted or not. I'm a teacher, and when I came back after a day's absence, there it was. A student wanted to bug me, and it worked!
