I recently had problems with my computer & it would not boot to anything...safe mode, regular, last known config. I used this as an excuse to get a new motherboard, processor, ram, hard drive, etc.

So I installed everything and I slaved my old hard drive to get as much info off of it as I could, and when I click on my OLD "MY DOCUMENTS" folder it says the folder is not accessible...

Please tell me there's a way to fix this!

    Hi Greg,
    welcome to the Windows BBS ...... :) ...... !

On the old computer, Your user account was probably setup with private folders which means that if other user accounts were present, they couldn't see Your folders. Now, You can't view the old "My documents" folder because You try to do that from a different account.

You have to take ownership of the folder and that has been discussed in the thread below:

    Access denied! - My documents

Here is another thing. Move the seperate files and folders within the old My Documents to the new My Documents folder. I've never tried to move the whole Document Folder. Never had a problem getting the files moved. I f they are still read only and you want to change that CROA http://davidcrowell.com/Croa.aspx will do that for you.
