I'm trying to play and old card game and I get the following message:

path and game name cannot load in the 16-bit windows subsystem becuase it is a win32.dll

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Itried a search on Google and in the MS Knowledge Base and found northing. It's not a big deal, I just don't like to be beaten by a computer....

    A couple:
*experiment with various options available via the [or a] shortcut for this game and Use compatibility mode.
HOW TO: Use Windows Program Compatibility Mode in Windows XP
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=292533

*Try to figure out which of the older 16 bit dll's is missing that a win32.dll is now taking the place of. If this can be figured out it may be possible to get the older dll and put a copy of it in the program (games) directory.

Might help if I knew specifically which game we are talking about and who made it. What is the games specifics?

There's a couple of them, one is Golf and the other is TutsTomb. I have no Idea who made the games, they're variations of solitaire.

I tried compatibility mode but that didn't workl

    Ah ha....
Perhaps this is the answer for the card game Golf:
    http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...+it+is+a+win32.dll%22&hl=en&lr=&start=10&sa=N

You need to extract the older cards.dll from the win98 cd and place it in the folder you should have made for the game. NOTE:This link was even kind enough to offer a sublink in which you can download the older "cards.dll" file.

Got tutstomb complete with the cards.dll. I am playing it as we speak. Seems to work without a hitch: (correction, I'm trying to figure out how to play it :) )

NOTE:As stated eariler the cards.dll, which seems to be the fly in ointment, is in the folder for the game.

Really in the mood for cards. The next rabbit I was going to pull out of my hat was this:

Which leads you the mega 600 solitaire pack of Pretty Good Solitaire
