    Hi again,

Yesterday I visited a client and plugged my laptop into their router. I was able to view their network, surf and receive emails. I also successfully sent a test message via "test account settings ". However, when I actually typed up a message to send it bounced straight back to me with this error:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

    Subject: Cheese, etc
    Sent: 9/11/2007 2:36 p.m.

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

    'info@xxx.co.nz' on 9/11/2007 2:36 p.m.
550 relaying mail to thehamper.co.nz is not allowed

    'info@xxx.co.nz' on 9/11/2007 2:36 p.m.
550 relaying mail to gvcheese.co.nz is not allowed

    'yyy@queenstown.co.nz' on 9/11/2007 2:36 p.m.
550 relaying mail to queenstown.co.nz is not allowed

Unfortunately the outgoing message was not saved in sent mail, nor did the cc to me rule apply, so I had to retype the whole thing and once I got back to my home network it sent fine.

The same error message came with subsequent messages I tried to send from that location. I have successfully sent/received emails from other clients' networks, both wireless and wired, with no difficulties. As I will be regularly visiting this client I'd be grateful if anyone could help me diagnose/fix this issue.

Also, might the other messages be somewhere hiding in my computer where I can retrieve them rather than retyping them? OS is Vista business.

The other question I have is about deleting messages. I have always used Mozilla apps in the past and liked the way I was able to click on a junk icon next to various messages and wouldn't need to select them to delete them. In Outlook it seems I have to actually highlight the message and then hit shift-delete then click on OK to get rid of them.

Obviously the inbuilt spam filter gets some of the junk but it's amazing how many messages entitled "viagra" still get through to my inbox.

I have tried setting up a rule that when I assign a message the "junk" category it is permanently deleted but it doesn't actually do anything, messages with the yellow junk icon next to them just sit therein my inbox.

Is there a quick way to delete junk?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jo

Most ISP's will not let you send mail through a different ISP. You would need to use the SMTP info of the ISP/client you are visiting.
